Diodorus of Sicily was a First Century historian and the first to catalog a list of seven must-see sights of the Ancient World. Among these was the Temple of Zeus at Olympus which featured a statue of the king of the gods, decorated with gold, ivory, precious stones and ebony. In his right hand he bore a smaller statue of Nike, the winged goddess of victory, and in his left he held a great scepter. This image has been recreated on a solid sterling pendant in a bright mirror finish, on an antiqued background, burnished to resemble hematite.
